JOB DECRIPTION: MECHANICAL ENGINEER

NATURE OF WORK:
You will solve operational problems and execute challenging projects. You should have strong technical, project management and leadership skills to capitalize on business opportunities through technical expertise and applying creative solutions to client’s needs from design to installation. The keys to your success are your design skills, client management skills, ability to handle multiple projects and knowledge of agency/regulatory approval processes.
EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:
1. Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with several years of progressive experience,
2. Registered as a Licensed Professional Engineer with the Province of Nova Scotia.
3. Proficient in AUTOCAD, 3D Parametric Modeling, SOLID Works, CATIA, ProE, IDEAS, Microsoft Office along with Powerpoint.
4. HVAC – perform heating and cooling calculations, perform sizing calculations,
develop and modify system descriptions; develop HVAC equipment specs and
procure HVAC equipment.
5. Up to date passport as travel may be required
SKILLS:
1. Posses excellent project cost estimating skills and ability to manage a project budget during project construction.
2. Keep schedules/budgets/reports up to date, prepare contract/tender documents.
3. Will be key liaison person with vendors for purchased components and original equipment manufacturers products.
4. Conduct mechanical tests and analyses of machines, components and materials.
5. Work on new and existing commercial products year round in addition to providing support to purchasing, manufacturing, customer service, inside and outside sales and field service.
6. Supervise, inspect and monitor mechanical installations.
7. Prepare and interpret engineering designs, drawings, specifications, process HVAC systems.
8. Develop maintenance standards, schedules and programs and equipment manuals.
9. Review and approve designs, calculations of supervised associates.
