BioNovations has developed a Live Seafood Transport System (LSTS) capable of carrying and maintaining live seafood for extended periods of time. The flexibility of the LSTS allows the unit to hold up to 25,000 lb/ 11,000 kg of product regardless of the species. The customer can locate profitable markets and have access to species they previously could not supply to their market segments. The system is currently housed in a 53-foot standard transport trailer. Trials, as well as actual deliveries, have resulted in a higher quality product at a lower transportation cost and a reduction in mortality. The design of this cost effective system gives you a considerable advantage over competitors who use the traditional transportation methods.

Temperature is controlled and maintained within 1 degree of the required temperature. The system has both water chilling, air chilling and heating systems that are controlled by five separate thermocouple control units.

Backup systems are incorporated to ensure temperature, water filtration and water circulation continues if a breakdown occurs. A diesel electric generator located in a compartment under the trailer provides the system’s power. This system includes a fail-safe feature, which will allow several pump failures without jeopardizing the payload. A state-of-the-art computer system monitors all temperature and water control functions and contains a built in warning system that monitors all critical functions in the trailer notifying the driver immediately. Optional satellite monitoring is also available.
